My classes are perfect for beginners, intermediates and professional artists alike. Creating a very supportive environment, I take you through a painting step-by-step. I have a unique method of teaching color theory and how to build a painting in a fun and effective way. I also do painting demonstrations throughout the process for the group and each individual, explaining visually how to solve problems or create different effects.

SUMMER WEEKEND WORKSHOPS

This summer I am offering 3 separate weekend-long workshops. You can sign up for 1, 2, or all 3!!! Each weekend will be a different focus. Individual workshops will run for 6 hours each day, which will include time for lectures with slide shows, painting exercises, lunch on the Nash Pond, and coffee breaks. Working on small canvasses, panels or paper, students will complete 1-3 paintings as well as multiple painted sketches. These classes will be held inside at my air-conditioned studio.

Then later in the morning choose from my photo reference options to practice building acrylic paintings using a “Color Theme”.

  • Lynne Adams, with her calm compassionate manner, breaks down the painting experience into a joyful process–clear, simple, and rewarding.

    Barbara J. Accomplished Artist
  • I have always maintained that I cannot draw and therefore never attempted to paint. However, using this method, I was astonished that I painted a landscape scene from one of my vacation photos within two hours and everyone that has seen it loves it.

    George S. 1st Time Painter
  • This is my third session with Lynne on the adventure of discovering the exciting world of painting. I have learned so much from her about painting landscapes. She has a very clear way of explaining color theory, mixing colors, interpreting the landscape and how to transfer it to the canvas. I have completed several good (in my opinion) paintings that people seem to enjoy. She creates a light, happy atmosphere and encourages conversation about each others interpretation of the common subject. She answers questions about her much admired paintings. Thus we learn how to accomplish a desired effect. She brings a lot of energy along with her extensive knowledge to the class. People will learn much from her along with having a very enjoyabe and memorable experience.

Pat R. Artist, 2nd Year of taking Art Classes
  • This class sounded really fascinating, but as the time approached I began to feel really anxious. I knew that I could draw fairly well, but the idea of painting always seemed out of my realm of possibilities. But within minutes after the class began, my confidence began to grow exponentially and I came away with a painting I could hardly believe was mine, after only two hours! Lynne is a wonderful teacher--gentle, encouraging, competent. I’m inspired now to continue painting!
