Learn from Lynne

I have always maintained that I cannot draw and therefore never attempted to paint. However, using this method, I was astonished that I painted a landscape scene from one of my vacation photos within two hours and everyone that has seen it loves it.

This is my third session with Lynne on the adventure of discovering the exciting world of painting. I have learned so much from her about painting landscapes. She has a very clear way of explaining color theory, mixing colors, interpreting the landscape and how to transfer it to the canvas. I have completed several good (in my opinion) paintings that people seem to enjoy. She creates a light, happy atmosphere and encourages conversation about each others interpretation of the common subject. She answers questions about her much admired paintings. Thus we learn how to accomplish a desired effect. She brings a lot of energy along with her extensive knowledge to the class. People will learn much from her along with having a very enjoyabe and memorable experience.

This class sounded really fascinating, but as the time approached I began to feel really anxious. I knew that I could draw fairly well, but the idea of painting always seemed out of my realm of possibilities. But within minutes after the class began, my confidence began to grow exponentially and I came away with a painting I could hardly believe was mine, after only two hours! Lynne is a wonderful teacher--gentle, encouraging, competent. I’m inspired now to continue painting!
