Let's Get Painting!

There is nothing like being outdoors experiencing and observing nature first hand. Learn what so many other painters throughout the years have learned – that painting directly from life will make you a better artist!

This painting class takes place at the beautiful Glendale Ridge Vineyard. Set high on a hill, the farm delivers a breathtaking view of  Mt. Tom and vicinity.

The workshop will begin with a 1 hour painting demonstration in the morning. During this process, Adams will clearly explain how to simplify the subject into manageable parts and build your visual vocabulary of composition, color theory, and brushwork. A particular emphasis will be on pushing color in order to create dynamic relationships, enhancing atmospheric perspective. After that, painters will choose a place to set up and begin their own painting. Instruction will then be given to each student according to his or her current skill level and personal goals in art. There will be plenty of tips and feedback throughout the day to help achieve effective, powerful paintings. You will be amazed what you accomplished in one day!

The best part…you can buy a glass of wine at any time in Glendale Ridge’s beautifully renovated wine barn!
